Mascots appearance timing :

– Outcast band – 18 and 19 Mar, 1330 to 1400, 1630 to 1700

Island life, State of Fun. party time !

We would like to highlight three sections for your Fun reference.

1) Activity and Brain Teasers booths outside Palawan Kidz City (same building as Kidzania and MOSH!) had games and tricks to engage kids or families.

Our kids’ favourite booth is “Vertical Victory”. Kids got to challenge each other to see who can slot the ball into the top hole in the shortest time 🙂

There are shelters to protect families against the elements, but we would recommend sunblock lotion anyway.

Kids really work and play hard to solve puzzles, too competitive.

Handicraft for the little ones (Little Hands and Minds)

Those looking for extra handicrafts should visit MOSH! cafe (3rd floor) for more Fun stuffs. We ran out of time as the events only start at 2.30pm.

2) Palawan Pirate ship is back and FREE! This site used to be called Port of Lost Wonder and families are clearly having Fun!

Splash! Water play is the perfect activity to cool off under the hot weather.

These are some other exciting performances and workshops at Palawan Pirate Ship.

* Newton Show (Science experiments) –
13,15,17 Mar – 1430 to 1500
19 Mar – 1330 to 1400, 1600 to 1630

* Mr Lighting Fingers (Balloons) – 16 Mar – 1330 to 1600, 1630 to 1700

* Do head to MOSH! cafe for more workshops (example Newton Master Class) 30 minutes after performance.

– Animal Encounter (Parrots) – 15,17,19 Mar – 1230 to 1300

More info about these can be found here.

3) Bazaar atmosphere at Sentosa Kidz Flea, this is their 6th edition, and we know why it is such a success 🙂

Date: 11 – 18 March 2017
Time: 2pm – 7pm
Venue: Beach Plaza

Part of the proceeds will be contributed towards Autism Association Singapore, a good cause.

Kids learn about entrepreneurship. They are given tips on how to man their “shop”, marketing, accounting and customer service. And we could tell everyone was very serious about their “job” 🙂

More than the decorations and merchandise, the kids’ enthusiasm (Play-trepreneurs) really impressed us. All were so eager to showcase their goods and contribute back to society.

Handmade creative wares from bookmarks, trinkets, magnets, and even beatles. These kids have put in a lot of effort and they should be proud of their own efforts. KUDOS!

Overall, the children participating ranges from age 4 to 12 , and it would be cool if SengkangBabies can manage a booth in 2018. However, we cannot sell tidbits as we would end up eating our own snacks :p

Creative handicraft, passionate junior entrepreneurs.

Happy hunting at the “Flea Market” 🙂

Happy customers, happy bosses. Thank you Sentosa Kidz Flea, it was an enriching experience for us 🙂

Our kids were more excited about the tikam tikam redemption. Every purchase entitle you to some “coupons” which can be exchange for more goodies, this lucky dip is sure-win 🙂

That was how we spend out Saturday Family day out at Sentosa.

Families would be glad to know that the Family Fun March activities are all family-friendly and within short walking distance from Beach station. Those events we highlighted above are mostly sheltered and Free 🙂

Safari Zoo Run 2017

[ Media Invite ]

So Safari Zoo Run 2017 came and go, all 5.5 km of race through forested grounds in Singapore Zoo and Night Safari.

We always tell our friends that this is the best family run in Singapore, because you can literally run next to animals!
Safari Zoo Run 2017

Young families can opt for 2.5 or 5.5 km route, we opted for 5.5km as we can see and experience more things along a longer route. I need to plan for a 10km route myself next edition. Read our 2015 and 2016 experience here.

A pity we could not run as a full family this round, as I was on a business trip and no1 got basketball tournament. Mommy Mengchoo was proud that Boon Yee (no2) took care of Boon Xin (no3) for half of the route, running together infront.

Boon Kang (no2) is our official photographer, so he got an excuse to “walk” slowly (Hello boy! You better run faster next round :p )

Spot the Zebras and Giraffes along the route, or Lions and Hyenas. These animals distracted us from fatigue (thumbs up). And this is exactly why we say running through the Zoo is such a novelty and FUN experience.

There is a new Wildlife Conservation theme for 2017, “Run For Wildlife”. I thought it was meaningful to raise awareness about Earth’s fragile ecosystem. Some species are endangered and risk extinction.

Can you imagine a day when we can only see animals in Zoo and not in the wild? That would be such a sad day.

We chose Chawang the Sumatran elephant as we felt our affinity is with the gentle giant. Our recent trip to a no-ride Elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai reinforced the need for elephant protection (read our Chiang Mai itinerary here)

Tourists, do not ride on the elephants as we are indirectly hurting them. Applause for Singapore Zoo for stopping elephant rides too (Straitstimes article)

Proud of Mommy and kids for completing their morning exercise 🙂

Once again, thank you Singapore Zoo for the wonderful invite to Safari Zoo Run 2017! Our family really enjoyed the running experience in Mandai.

Nerf Gun Fun at Combat Zone

[ Media Invite ]

Posing at Combat Zone, before we engaged in some friendly Nerf Gun Fun.

Some friendly photos, introducing Orange and Yellow team.

Once the timer starts, adrenaline took over and NO MERCY!

The first few photos really captured our fun experience. We were invited to Singapore’s first indoor Nerfgun arena. Located at Scape, enter at your own risk 🙂
Although the arena is not really big, but it is enough for 5 vs 5 faceoff. Our family of six had a lot of space to hide and maneuver.

Pricing package, second session is 50% off. From our experience, the basic Retaliator will provide enough fun for everyone. No need to upsize and get the other powerful guns (Rampage and Zeus)

Choose your mission, 10 minutes per mission would be enough to make you perspire.

In a few easy steps, choosing Mission, select weapon, safety goggles, and weapon zeroing, we were ready to GO!

(Boot camp) Kids zeroing their weapons.

Sengkang Babies were very competitive at Combat Zone, just look at the amount of spent “cartridges” on the floor, my Army ATEC (evaluation) was never so fierce! We had so much FUN and laughter.

Reloading is tedious, and we always get sniped when we are reloading! I would like to recommend that all the magazines are pre-loaded heh heh.

My army training quickly came back to me, Cover and Concealment. You do not take shelter, you Die :p

Overwhelming firepower to drown the opponent, breathing techniques for one shot one kill.

I was supposed to take photos of the kids having fun, but the mission proved to be too addictive! Fortunately, Combat Zone staff helped us to snap some fun shots 🙂

Look at Mummy Meng Choo, she initially declined to participate but had so much fun sniping at the kiddos haha :p
Nerf Gun Fun

Boon Kang (no2) is the marksman in our family.

Some rules and tips to enjoy your session :

– Do contact Combat Zone to enquire whether your preferred slot is available
– Venue is carpeted, it is ok to go barefoot
– Go during offpeak hours to enjoy savings
– The basic Retaliator is enough
– We played two missions (cans and hostage), we preferred hostage as it is more challenging
– Each mission is about 10 minutes
– No worries about tactics, kids will adapt and “kill” strongest competitor first (ie the Dad). Teamwork Yeah!
– Those wearing specs might opt to skip the goggles
– Bring your own towel and water, venue is air-conditioned but we were still perspiring
– Venue is spacious enough for 5 vs 5
– Minimum age is 12 years old (but it is super safe for younger kids to try)
Combat Zone do cater for Birthdays, team-building and “outdoor” missions too

Do follow Combat Zone on their Website and Facebook for latest updates.

Address : Scape, 2 Orchard Link, #03-06, S237978

Mon to Sunday:
12pm to 10pm

~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~
Mum rules! You do not wish to antagonise her. Ignore her instruction and eat a bullet. You dare to snipe her, you get one too haha :p
Do pop by our previous diy Nerfgun sessions here and here 🙂
Thank you for the super FUN invite, Combat Zone!
My kids are already asking about the next sessions haha.
