Flower Dome Chinese New Year with Goats

Goats have invaded Flower Dome Chinese New Year!

The rock foundations at Gardens by the Bay seem to have crystallized overnight! Scenic backdrop, family photos will have a bit of Chinese portrait feeling (literally).

Wait till you go down to the valley (Flower Bed), herds of goats are happily munching on the flowers, while others are rock climbing. ζ ©ζ ©ε¦‚η”Ÿ! And they are not shy of guests too!

Boon Wee found his own goat πŸ™‚

Gardens by the Bay’s 2015 Chinese New Year theme is “Asian Tales”, and this is the year of the goat(羊).

KumQuat, auspicious couplets add to the festive landscape. Couplets with auspicious idioms were spotted at every corner.

With so many flowers and goats, families were all beaming and soaking in the festive atmosphere, ε–œζ°”ζ΄‹ζ΄‹!

You might not believe it but everyone in SengkangBabies owns an unique animal. We got Tiger, Rat, Goat, Chicken, Pig and Cow in our home!

No wonder so noisy.

Flowers are in full bloom. Chrysanthemums, Dahlia, Pussy willows and Orchids. There is Cherry blossom too Wow! (has not bloomed yet).

The bright orange yellow pink and red petals really add bountiful and rich colours to the Chinese New Year mood.

Pretty blooms, so colourful and vibrant!

My favourite flower, Dahlia Rural Leah (tounge twisting name)

Playing with Goats, the crazy siblings wanted the goats to kick their butts!

Our colourful outfits added to the photo vibrancy and richness ! The goats really make everyone meh smile πŸ™‚

While Boon Wee is contented with his pet goat, Boon Xin was more pragmatic and tried to smuggle a gold ingot home.

To quote from GBTB β€œAsian Tales” is the first of six chapters as Gardens by the Bay embarks on a storytelling journey in 2015. This enchanting series of floral displays for the year will draw visitors into the magical world of folklore, legends, fairy tales and nursery rhymes as told through the language of plants.”

Tulipmania at Gardens by the Bay

[ Media Invite ]

Tulips are the one and only reason for us to visit Gardens by the Bay (GBTB)’s Flower Dome (read our Tulips plantation in 2013).

And now KLM is giving you another adorable reason to visit the Tulips. Miffy !

Tulipmania runs from 14Apr to 04May, and we suspect Tulips and Miffy will be on everyone’s lip πŸ™‚

First, the media group got a chance to pluck their tulips into their planters. Does not matter if our Tulips is not sited perfectly, kids had fun digging the compost.

The planters will then be laid out onto Flower Dome’s flower bed.
Three little divas (from L to R), SengkangBabies, InTheWeeHours and Cheekiemonkies.

Kids believe their efforts will transform Flower Dome into this splendid Tulips field.

Daddy only told them a bunny will be hopping by, but they are amazed at the giant but friendly Miffy. Smiles and sometimes shrieks follow Miffy, she is one popular Bunny!

It was so sweet when we witness some kiddos giving Miffy a tight HUG πŸ™‚

Crowds swarm Miffy with request for photos, selfies, but a pity the KLM female staff needs to be in every picture. (KLM is sponsor, and they flew Miffy to SG in style)

Miffy is everywhere, Big and Small, come catch him again on the 20th and 26th.
We have to thanks our sponsors for the cute KLM-uniform mini Miffy too.

Even Daddy adults are impressed.

The ground might look a little barren now, but we are anticipating Netherlands’ famous bloom next week.
Remember the giant clogs and windmill, they will be back.

You might recogonise some Holland landscaping in the background. GBTB hopes to replicate some “Madurodam” magic in Singapore (something like our Taiwan 小人国)

On our way to a higher vantage point, we came across a unique Rose, this one belongs in the desert.

Flower bed looks marvelous from any angle, we cannot wait for the tulips to bloom.

*hint hint* It is rumoured that the Tulips field will experience full bloom on 14th and 16th, but please double check with Gardens by the Bay Fanpage before popping by.

We bid Miffy a reluctant Tot Ziens (goodbye!)

The latest Tulips update can be found on Garden by the Bay (GBTB) Website and Fanpage.

Tulips in Tropical Singapore !

[Media Invite]

Thanks to KLM, 20 000 Tulip Bulbs (郁金香) have been air-flown all the way from Holland. Tulips, Windmill and clogs remind us of Holland.

You do not need to fly 12 hours to visit your favourite blooms. From 29th April to 20th May, Gardens By The Bay (GBTB)’s colourful TulipMania will amaze you.

We were invited to do some gardening, and Boon Yee still does not know his hands will get dirty.

Before we start, we need to attend Tulips 101 crash course.

Hundreds of boxes, the content does not look anything like Tulips yet, but we know something magical awaits in a few days.

We had students from Temasek JC to cultivate the field with us.

In case we forget the colours, there is actually a Tulips masterplan.

We heard there is a time-lapse camera capturing the budding Tulips. Daddy cannot wait to see the Tulips explode into colours.

Once the Tulips start blooming, we might see something like this? You can expect Windmills and clogs in the Gardens !

Flower Dome was closed to accommodate the makeover. We saw professional gardeners spruce and prune, skillfully decorating Tall Vases in under 30 mins !

Boon Yee must be the youngest Gardener on that day πŸ™‚

YES, we need to get our hands dirty, but no one is complaining πŸ™‚

It was a new experience for us, how many will get a chance to do gardening in the Flower Dome? Thank you Ferne for the father son photos πŸ™‚

While we are taking a break, we admire the eggs and bunny from Easter.

After today, we appreciate the efforts and hardwork needed to change FlowerBed every season. It still feels weird to talk about four seasons in humid Singapore.

Now, we just have to wait. Make a date, 29th April.

We would like to thanks Gardens by the Bay (GBTB) for the invite, both Daddy and Yi had a memorable outing. Check out the photos of us perspiring on the Flower field πŸ™‚

As May12 is Mother’s day, a series of events are cater with Mums in mind.
