Christmas at Gardens By the Bay

We love Christmas at Gardens By the Bay.

Very few places in tropical Singapore can match Gardens by The Bay’s (GBTB) Christmas celebration. We enjoyed Poinsettia Wishes (Flower Dome) and  Christmas Wonderland last week.

“Poinsettia Wishes” at Flower Dome let us enjoyed the festive spirit and atmosphere, celebrations will end on 06 Jan 2018.

With Santa’s cabin and Lavvu (a shelter), and many more Christmas trees around, we needed more family photos but there are too many photobombs too 🙂

Toy soldiers, ringing in the Christmas carols.

Look up and you might spot Aurora (Northern Lights), from 7pm daily. I love the reflections off Flower Dome’s glass roof.

Outdoors, “Christmas Wonderland” awaits.

Entry is ticketed and gated, for crowd control. Areas like the Super Tree Grove and Meadow had Christmas markets, carnivals and even a skating rink.

We changed our tokens at “fairground” and had a go at some carnival actions.

The mini train rides were popular with the little ones.

We loved the festive moods within the compound itself.

The highlight for Christmas Wonderland would be ice skating.

The Luminarie Lights are attractions themselves, so bright and beautiful.  They look so radiant under the dark sky, like sparkles of stars or snow flakes.

Only a small complain from us, there was no shelters at the Meadow area. We were caught in three sudden downpours and everyone needed to rush and hunt for covers.

Christmas Wonderland might have ended, but you can still enjoy Flower Dome’s Poinsettia Wishes (till 06Jan).

Christmas at Gardens By the Bay is always an amazing experience, do pop by our previous celebrations (2014 and 2016).

Our GBTB experiences are documented at this link.
Happy New Year everyone!

We spotted dragonflies everywhere !

Layers upon layers of colourful blooms melt our hearts, we cannot help but feel jubilant with the riot of colours.

Even the kids are mesmerised by the blooms, they are so Cooperative posing for photos. Thank goodness the Giant predatory dragonflies behind them are long extinct.

No Mid Autumn celebration will be complete without lanterns 🙂

Harmony 家庭圆满 🙂

The outdoor poster tells us that we need at least 1 hour to cover the whole Lantern exhibitions !

Take your time, enjoy the sights and reflections. You will spot a lot of bats fishing too.

As we went on a Sunday, a lot of families were also out in force at Gardens by the Bay !

Kids will love ‘Jurassic Park’ and ‘World of Fairy Tales’.

The Sakae Sushi frog above is spotted all over the GBTB compound, count all of them correctly to win Sakae vouchers 🙂

Pandora 3D is highly recommended. If you like Avatar, all things blue and dreamy, you will love Pandora ! Kids could not contain their glee once they wore their 3D glasses !

School competition, children portrays all things associated with Mid Autumn. We found modern Chang Er, and we suspect some of the less docile looking bunnies might be recycled for Halloween :p

From Boon Xin and Ale’s smiling faces, it pretty much sums up our joyous experience 🙂

Thank you team Gardens By the Bay for the evening’s itinerary. We believe Garden by the Bay’s Lantern exhibitions is the best in Singapore. 中秋节快乐 to everyone !

We started 2013 at Gardens by the Bay

Yi and Xin had not been to a countdown event before, as we thought they are too young. Only Wei and Kang has accompany Daddy to countdowns before, read our Anchorvale neighbourhood countdown for 2012.

To bid goodbye to 2012 and Hello 2013, we reached Gardens by the Bay at 9.30pm, expecting a hugh crowd, but it was surprisingly quiet. Daddy thought we can blame the non-stop rain, which must have deterred a lot of families from counting down downtown.

When the clock strike Midnight, we witness the first streak of fireworks climbing up behind MBS’ pillars! Kids cover their ears, vision glued to the fireworks.

We know our late night event is worth it, and kids will definitely pester us for future fireworks events 🙂

Happy 2013 ! wait… we have to first drive slowly 1 hour from Gardens to ECP :p
