Sports with Family. But where are the little ones?
Do not lament that time flies.
Do not complain that 24 hours is not enough.
If we give kids our priority, we will squeeze out some time for them.
We got two teenagers in our home.
Kids have outgrown their bikes, off goes the assistance wheels.
Freedom, independence, the kids have plenty of opportunities to explore more of Singapore on their own, or with their friends.
It is getting more challenging to ask them to join our family outing (HUH?) Must fix an appointment too (WHAT!)
I am exaggerating but you get the idea (sooner or later hee hee)
I am relishing every moment which I get to hang out with the kids, it can be sports with family, eating or just any other activities.
If we do not spend time with them now, then when?
Do not give kids our leftover time.
Their childhood will be over in a blink.
What type of memories would I wish to leave behind for my kids?
And so we explore Marina Bay and Marina Barrage area the other day. The kids surprised me when they cycled effortlessly on their Mobike and OFO.
They are the ones who installed the bike apps on my phone!
They were excited to see a family of 15 otters close up, all dozing! I told them the otter pups will one day set off to build their own families.
Did they understand my hint, my parenting dilemma?
9km, 90 minutes, all Fun.
What was even more pleasant was no3 and no4 still retain their cheekiness and childish antics at the water play corner.
They lost their inhibitions and were totally drenched, but I was the HAPPIEST Dad in Singapore for that 20 minutes.
I keep encouraging my kids to be active and enjoy sports. I hope it will reinforce their characters and give them a good moral grounding.
