Village Hotel Bugis, Good Food around Bugis

[ Sponsored]

Continuing from Day one review of Village Hotel Bugis Hotel, we have more good food to share.

Breakfast at 3rd Floor (Chinese cuisine) or 5th floor (International). It looks the same to us, but 5th floor does offer the pool view πŸ™‚

With so much food intake, I need to remind everyone to exercise too. Gym anyone? Kids sure know how to wayang (act) for my camera :p

Famous North Bridge Road Steamboat (Nam Wah Chong ε—εŽζ˜Œ). Ideal for a lazy evening, but we still prefer Whampoa’s Fishhead soup (both fish and pricing).

We will encourage you to walk in the direction of Liang Seah, which offers a lot of dining and cafe options. (Purvis is another 5 min away)

We love Ah Chew’s range of desserts. Be it warm or cold, there is always something for everyone, and the price is reasonable too. You must order the steam egg πŸ™‚

You might walk past beautiful wall-arts or decorations along Haji Lane or along Victoria Street. These arts seem to 3D jump out from the walls.

So many niche boutique shops selling non-mainstream decorations, and fashion statements.

Life like wall murals πŸ™‚

On another day, we took a train to Dhoby Ghaut (just 8 min away) where more shopping and food awaits.
But we are here to day to take a photo with some “Dynasty of the Sun” hotshot πŸ™‚

Have heard so much about Seorae’s Korean BBQ. The meat does not disappoint πŸ™‚

Do not leave without ordering any shaved ice (aka PatBingsoo )

I did a 8km loop around Marina Bay in the evening. Slow and easy, it was nice to finish the jog and return to the city staycation for one night.

3D2N at Village Hotel Bugis, truly satisfying staycation as we got to walk and explore the rich happening neighbourhood. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to our friends.

If we have more time, I would have love to visit the nearby Museums and Galleries.

M1 M Card roaming data plan

[ Advertorial ]

When we go traveling, it is convenient to stay connected.
It gives us the flexibility to check our emails, Google for resources (Maps Navigation GPS etc) or simply updating our Social Media.

Kids (and sometimes adults) can engage in online games too πŸ™‚
We would like to call home on WeChat or Facetime with family.

But getting Online might not always be straightforward.
You need to identify a suitable telco (telecoms operator), find the booth in airport (example),
and hope he or she will help you Connect and settle the data-plan registration.

I had difficulty getting online in Japan Osaka.
In Japan, 4G sim cards are from auto-dispenser (you can get a lot of things from auto-dispensers in Japan!)

The technology looks cool but the irony is we need a “wifi” in order to register our Data plan.
When you cannot connect Online easily, it is not Cool!
I need a Japanese colleague to help me call the telco hotline and activate my data-plan.

Nearer to home, we visit Malaysia frequently for our drive holidays.
Although we can find a lot of vendors in shopping malls, we still need to spend time to locate telco’s booth, before we can update or topup our plan.

This can be very inconvenient when your whole family is tagging along, or if there is a long queue.

Recently, we used M1’s M Card for our Johor road trip.
M Card is bundled with free 500MB data and it costs only $15.

The best thing about M Card is we can buy it off any M1 Shop, and activate our data-plan even before we leave Singapore. (Choose Celcom for Malaysia)

3 simple steps, you are ready to roam overseas!

Some other advantages of M Card :
a) Surf with M Card’s data plans in Singapore or overseas is simple and seamless, you will not be able to tell the difference.

b) We can go online and top up whenever necessary! No worries about closed shops during odd hours

c) Remember, there is no overseas data roaming charges (or admin charges for roaming between selected countries). No heart attack when the bill comes end of month.

d) M Card is worth $15, but we get to enjoy $18 worth of value in which I can simply use to subscribe data plan.

e) Each $15 M Card enables us to stay connected while overseas with the Free bundled 500 MB Data. That should be enough for a short trip overseas! It gives you the ease of Googling for anything we need, referring to our maps anytime and most importantly staying connected.

Being connected means I am able to share all the fun my kids and I have almost immediately! Here are some of the pics that you would have seen if you follow @SengkangBabies on Instagram.

If you are going overseas soon, don’t forget to check out the M card to stay connected. Going overseas is all about enjoying the experience and minimum hassles and worries. Let M1 take one worry off for you.
