7am at around 7km mark, downpour! Rain was forecasted, but not Downpour haha.
Together with my colleagues, we were participating in 10km NILA Run. This run is part of SEA Games community activities.
5.00am – Many runners from all over Singapore make their way to National Stadium. Considering MRT is not operating yet, and the huge (and confusing) road closures, most made it on time.
The SEA Games torch continues to burn day and night, even under the rain.
6.10am flag off, a sea of red.
7.15am – Finishers all drenched, but no one is complaining, no one gave up. We huddle in the tents, finish our 100plus and wait for the rain to subside.
Only the super fast guys (10km under 40min) would remain dry, my kakis are all soaked haha π
But you guys rock!
My second 10km run in 2015, happy with my achievement (1hr 10 min), but timing can improve further. Discover a scenic and green route behind Marina Bay Golf Course (at 3 to 5km markers).
Even when we walk back to our transport, the sky is still gloomy. Pity the 42km marathoners, they will be in a worse state than us.
Hope to bring the kids to more 5km runs in 2015!
