Boon Xin’s Birthday celebration at Swensen’s

[ Sponsored ]

Recently, Boon Xin held her 5th Birthday celebration at Swensen’s.
From the smiles of Boon Xin and guests, it was a very successful Birthday party!

Ask every parent and they will tell you venue and food shortlisting is not easy. We want a spacious venue, kids-friendly menu (we hear fries and ice cream), and if possible, minimum cleanup.

Let us share our Happening Birthday party at Swensen’s.

The princess, our Boon Xin is 5 years old already, children really grow up too Fast!

It was not too long ago she celebrated her First Birthday with a cow.

Before the guests arrive, kids entertained themselves. The colourful balloons gave everyone a cheery mood.

We had chosen Swensen’s Nex for it’s spacious Birthday corner, which can accommodate up to 30 guests easily. It would be a stretch to host so many friends at home.

Let us share our finger food from Swensen’s Birthday Tea Party Buffet.

Spaghetti, nuggets and fries are always popular with kids.

Bon Appetit.

Swensen’s Birthday Party package also come with Ice Cream, lots of it!
Boon Xin’s eyes brighten up when she saw the chocolate ice cream!

Every party needs games and entertainment to engage our little guests. Our friendly host (Rita) kept the kids smiling with balloon, games and ice cream Sundae!

There are a total of 16 kids, and it is quite challenging to catch their attention. Some of the popular games, passing the parcel until music stops (with penalty), quiz and presents.

Laughter echoes around Swensen’s Nex outlet. Maybe kids are celebrating end of exams too.

Sometimes, Jolie and friends might just prefer to jump and pluck the balloons !

But the coolest surprise must be our diy Sundae session! Wow, kids can decorate their own Sundae with cherries and toppings.

Some might actually volunteer to spray whipped cream onto their face πŸ™‚
Boon Xin blow off the candle, and the Sundae mysteriously disappear, returning two empty bowls.

We ordered a Disney Minnie for Boon Xin, all 1kg of Ice Cream and chocolate. And she could not resist peeling off the chocolate from her cake.

Shall we sing a Happy Birthday song? (we heard born-in-the-Zoo rendition too)

Swensen Ice cream cake

After blowing the candle, kids try their best to blow the dry ice too.

Goodie bags to end our party, thank you all for gracing our Birthday Party.

Seeing her Happy and Healthy (and all our kids too), make Daddy and Mummy contented πŸ™‚

Dine like Royalty @ The King Louis

[ Review ]

The King (no2 Boon Kang) invited the jester, knight, and princess to celebrate his birthday in style in a Castle. Venue is at The King Louis Grill and Bar.

Read on as we have $50 vouchers to share with our readers πŸ™‚

Two features impress us from start to end, the amount of food stacked on HUGH platters, and the medieval castle ambiance. Imagine yourself dining in an old cavern, with Knights in Armour protecting your bacon πŸ™‚

King Boon Kang and his siblings are shouting Awesome, we cannot wait for the majestic banquet to start.

Signature Mushroom ($8.90) and Pumpkin ($7.90) soups.
Everyone prefers the thick creamy Mushroom soup (4/5 points).

We ordered the Queen Victoria platter ($108.50) for 2-3 person. We did not order the 4-5 portion as we heard that “The King Louis” serves hugh portion.

Platter looks impressive, with black pepper beef, BBQ baby ribs, pan fried snapper with wasabi mayo sauce, oven baked prawns with melted Australian cheese, and sauteed scallop with garlic and wine sauce.

Kids love the prawns while adults savour the juicy ribs. The beef does not disappoint, succulent yet not too spicy for kids. At King Louis, the abundant platters always have something for everyone. (scores 4/5)

If Queen looks so appetizing, can you imagine how a King’s Seafood Banquet will be served?
(We did not order as kids might not appreciate an all seafood platter.)

Banana Bacon Bites ($10.50)
As the name suggests, you wrap a bacon around the banana, we are not sure how to describe the texture and bite, but it sure taste heavenly!

Look at the tandalising photo below, no wonder our kids all got a second helping. (Score 4.5/5)

Boon Wee order a Princess Taisie Fish and Chips ($12) from kids’ menu.
He like his batter coated Dory fillet and fries (score 4/5).

When the kids never stop munching, we parents know they are enjoying their food.

While families listen to live music, we can spot Shrek’s Far Far Away Castle across the harbour. We heard you can even spot RWS’ fireworks on weekends.

Teriyaki Chicken salad ($13.80)
Fresh garden salad, grilled chicken breast meat topped with teriyaki sauce and parmesan cheese. After so much meat, we need veggies to balance off (Score 3.5/5)

Platter C ($21.90) is a mini platter aimed to please the kids πŸ™‚
Drumplets, Bacon banana (yes please!), Calamari, prawn twisters and wedges.

Lovely selection, we recommend this platter to kids. (Score 4/5)

At The King Louis, the food not only taste good, and looks spectacular too! When every dish is named after a King, Queen, Princess or Knight, it fits the medieval theme of the restaurant.

King Boon Kang cutting his Royal cake, he is our VIP today πŸ™‚

We did not know King Louis was hiring mini interns ! Kids tried their hands bartending.

We would like to thanks The King Louis and our friendly PR Danielle for inviting us. Kids enjoyed themselves so much.

If you are planning to drop by over the weekends, please call to RSVP first. We heard family size of up to 20 are not uncommon at King Louis.

Parents Worlds has awarded The King Louis “Best family restaurant award” for 2012 and 2011.

Link up with The King Louis on their social platforms, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or website. King Louis would like to recommend Queen Dessert Cafe Bistro for some gourmet coffee too πŸ™‚
