Staycation Grand Park Orchard

What is a holiday with Grand Park Orchard?
Kids might associate a holiday as one where they are sleeping anywhere, but home.

What is a staycation?
To Daddy and Mummy, a staycation is very much a Holiday.
We do not need to travel out of Singapore to enjoy our Holidays.

We were invited to Grand Park Orchard for a 2D1N stay last weekend. And Grand Park Orchard shows us that not all Staycations are the same.

Hey, look at our customised pillow casing and we even got our own meme.
Over 2D1N, we were exposed to more “personal” gestures.

Hotel policy normally restricts a room to two adults and two children. SengkangBabies got four kids, and it is often challenging to find a bigger room (within budget).

With Park Hotel Group’s Family Moments package, you can book a second room at 50% and weekends booking gets an automatic room upgrade !

Imagine our exhilaration when boys realised they can sleep in their own room (adjoining). Daddy had hoped Boon Xin would be encouraged to bunk in with her brothers but…

Alas, our Premier room’s King size bed will not be shared only by the King and Queen, but princess too.

Fruits and delicious cookies for guests. They were gone after Daddy’s quick shower!

See through shower screens, more suitable for honeymoon couples (read no kids around).

Pull open the curtain and busy Orchard street life greeted us.

It is very thoughtful of Grand Park Orchard to cater for kids’ shower accessories.

This couch is our favorite rest point, Daddy swears he could doze off comfortably.

Every room comes with a 3G equipped smartphone. This is a complimentary service from Grand Park Orchard. Just use the apps to find the best sights, dining spots, or nearby malls. You can even plan your half-day or 3D2N itinerary!

Unlimited 3G surfing and unlimited calls in Singapore or to 27 countries!

If we need a reminder of Grand Park Orchard’s exemplary service, this hotel won multiple awards in 2013. We are not the only ones impressed, reviews here.

Grand Park Orchard presents luxurious comfort and modern conveniences to both business and leisure travellers.

Everyone in the hotel always has a ready smile, always willing to go that extra step to pamper their guests. We felt very welcome throughout our stay.

Smack right in the heart of Orchard Road (between Orchard and Somerset MRT), we do not need to walk 10 min to enjoy premium shopping, late night movies, or various F&B venues.

First stop, swimming pool. Wherever we go, we always bring our swimming attires along.

Cool, we had the whole pool to ourselves. Take note pool depth is 1.2m

Our water babies enjoying themselves.

We are hungry after the swim, time for High Tea.

Tim sum anyone? High Tea at Grand Park Orchard offers delectable local cuisines.

Hungry kids in action.

Sweet treats, cheesecakes and more tidbits.
As long as kids are enjoying themselves, parents are not complaining.

Our High Tea was at Open House, a open dining concept. Catch the chefs in action at four “live” cooking stations, as they whip up your pizzas or claypots.

Anyway, everyone is in a happy mood after the third ice cream helping.

Go for the claypot selections. We love the Assam claypot 🙂

We are recommending the yummy Laksa and Popiah too.

After our tiring swim and hearty High Tea, kids need a power nap. To enjoy our Staycation, we need to relax, and there is no need for any itinerary 🙂

Our bears love their City view too.
Busy Orchard road

What do tourists do in Singapore’s Orchard Road?
We enjoy walking down Orchard Road, soaking in the atmosphere, knowing that “Home’ is just around the corner.

Thank you Grand Park Orchard for making our staycation so refreshing and memorable, we would not hesitate to recommend Park Hotel Group Hotels to our friends.

Stay tune for our Day 2 post where we explore more of Orchard Road. We have already uploaded our 2D1N Staycation photos on our Fanpage, click Day1 and Day2.

The best thing is we can opt for late checkout at 3pm, more time to snooze and laze around. This is our perfect Staycation !

Candy Empire cookies indulgence

[ Media Invite ]

We found a giant Chupa Chups Lollipop at Candy Empire, and Daddy just need someone to act bewildered with the Giant Lollipop.

That Giant lollipop very much sum up our Fun “Candy Empire Sunday Brunch” 🙂
kids Chupa Chup lollipop

When we mention Candy Empire, kids will only pick “Candy”, or “Chocolates” or “Lollipops”. It was very tough for us to resist Candy Empire sweet invitation to their Sunday Spread, an event exclusively for members.

Look at the tantalising platters of cookies, wafers, and chocolates.
Where should we start?
Cookies and candy buffet

On top of delicious pastries, kids even got to design their own gourmet cookies.
With the help of our friendly 姐姐 (sisters), we crafted some cookie faces, colourful bean jelly for the nose, Nutella for the eyebrow.

Kids exercise their own creativity. The cookies are so tempting that they are not waiting for Daddy to snap some photos first 🙁

Eat, craft, eat, design, eat eat and more delicious cookies await us.
Most of the time, kids were busy crafting and munching at the same time.

Our own gourmet cookies design.

Our Sunday spread consists of Ovaltine and Speculoos, both complements well with apples and bananas.

Nutella too, everyone is spoilt for choice!

Not contented with the delicious cookies and pastries, kids decided to monopolise the whole Stall ! The organiser was kept busy slicing the apple and bananas for the hungry kids audience.

Happy customers.

On Sunday Spread days, members are entitled to a 20% discount storewide, Mummy is happy to fulfill the kiddo’s orders.

Video : More cookies seduction 🙂

Durian or Angry birds anyone?

Did you know Candy Empire’s best seller is Ovaltine? In Switzerland, Ovaltine is known as Ovomaltine. Each customer is subject to a maximum of 6 bottles.

To quote from Candy Empire :
As our best-selling product, Ovomaltine Crunchy Cream is a thick, creamy chocolate spread mixed with Ovomaltine granules, giving it an absolutely divine crunchy texture. Besides being a scrumptious spread, you’ll be glad to know that its nutritious mixture contains a variety of up to 11 vitamins and high levels of minerals like magnesium, calcium, and phosphorus. If you face the problem of picky children at the breakfast table, the combination of a creamy taste and high nutrition value of the Ovomaltine spread can be your easy solution.

Ovaltine and Speculoos might be a good substitute compared to the usual “candy and chocolate” souvenirs.

The happiest customer must be Boon Xin, she hauled back one month’s worth of Sweet supply 🙂

Thank You Candy Empire for the Fun and Delicious Sunday Spread.

This might be one of the rare occasion when Daddy allowed cookies before dinner :p
