Before that, we enjoyed our complimentary buffet breakfast at 8.30am. We can afford to linger on bed longer on a weekend. Boon Kang helping his siblings to cut up the hotdogs and bacon.

Boon Wee wished to let you know that the Mee Siam is good.

Breakfast with a view. Kids enjoying their breakfast and viewing Orchard Road street life.

We decided to tour Orchard Road’s backyard as Daddy had heard about NSS’ efforts to cultivate butterflies friend plants. The boys should enjoy outdoor Fun compared to shopping at Wisma or Takashimaya.

Why Orchard road no more butterflies

Instead of butterflies, we found brown leaves and withered leaves, thanks to the recent drought. It must have a dire impact on the butterflies’ population.

We did see a lot of Captain America posters in Orchard Road.

We pop by Visitor’s Centre (first picture) for some orientation about Singapore. Chinatown, Little India, and Kampong Glam, these ethnic enclaves are recommended for tourists to soak in Singapore’s multi-racial society.

You can get ideas about Singapore itinerary, or you can send some authentic postcards, and win great prizes along the way too πŸ™‚

If kids need additional entertainment, we can always borrow Dvd from concierge.

Back at the hotel’s waterhole, it would be cool if we can have some cocktail (or ice milo) at Bar Canary, but Daddy said we are under-aged, no liquor.

We bid farewell to our 2D1N stay at Grand Park Orchard.

Do pop by our Fanpage for our 2D1N photos, and read our Day 1 High-tea and swim here.

Staycation Grand Park Orchard

What is a holiday with Grand Park Orchard?
Kids might associate a holiday as one where they are sleeping anywhere, but home.

What is a staycation?
To Daddy and Mummy, a staycation is very much a Holiday.
We do not need to travel out of Singapore to enjoy our Holidays.

We were invited to Grand Park Orchard for a 2D1N stay last weekend. And Grand Park Orchard shows us that not all Staycations are the same.

Hey, look at our customised pillow casing and we even got our own meme.
Over 2D1N, we were exposed to more “personal” gestures.

Hotel policy normally restricts a room to two adults and two children. SengkangBabies got four kids, and it is often challenging to find a bigger room (within budget).

With Park Hotel Group’s Family Moments package, you can book a second room at 50% and weekends booking gets an automatic room upgrade !

Imagine our exhilaration when boys realised they can sleep in their own room (adjoining). Daddy had hoped Boon Xin would be encouraged to bunk in with her brothers but…

Alas, our Premier room’s King size bed will not be shared only by the King and Queen, but princess too.

Fruits and delicious cookies for guests. They were gone after Daddy’s quick shower!

See through shower screens, more suitable for honeymoon couples (read no kids around).

Pull open the curtain and busy Orchard street life greeted us.

It is very thoughtful of Grand Park Orchard to cater for kids’ shower accessories.

This couch is our favorite rest point, Daddy swears he could doze off comfortably.

Every room comes with a 3G equipped smartphone. This is a complimentary service from Grand Park Orchard. Just use the apps to find the best sights, dining spots, or nearby malls. You can even plan your half-day or 3D2N itinerary!

Unlimited 3G surfing and unlimited calls in Singapore or to 27 countries!

If we need a reminder of Grand Park Orchard’s exemplary service, this hotel won multiple awards in 2013. We are not the only ones impressed, reviews here.

Grand Park Orchard presents luxurious comfort and modern conveniences to both business and leisure travellers.

Everyone in the hotel always has a ready smile, always willing to go that extra step to pamper their guests. We felt very welcome throughout our stay.

Smack right in the heart of Orchard Road (between Orchard and Somerset MRT), we do not need to walk 10 min to enjoy premium shopping, late night movies, or various F&B venues.

First stop, swimming pool. Wherever we go, we always bring our swimming attires along.

Cool, we had the whole pool to ourselves. Take note pool depth is 1.2m

Our water babies enjoying themselves.

We are hungry after the swim, time for High Tea.

Tim sum anyone? High Tea at Grand Park Orchard offers delectable local cuisines.
Buffet Grandpark Orchard

Hungry kids in action.

Sweet treats, cheesecakes and more tidbits.
As long as kids are enjoying themselves, parents are not complaining.

Our High Tea was at Open House, a open dining concept. Catch the chefs in action at four “live” cooking stations, as they whip up your pizzas or claypots.

Anyway, everyone is in a happy mood after the third ice cream helping.

Go for the claypot selections. We love the Assam claypot πŸ™‚

We are recommending the yummy Laksa and Popiah too.

After our tiring swim and hearty High Tea, kids need a power nap. To enjoy our Staycation, we need to relax, and there is no need for any itinerary πŸ™‚

Our bears love their City view too.

What do tourists do in Singapore’s Orchard Road?
We enjoy walking down Orchard Road, soaking in the atmosphere, knowing that “Home’ is just around the corner.
