Relaxing stay at Bintan Lagoon Resort

Over the December school holidays, we were invited to Bintan Lagoon Resort (BLR).

The first impression which struck us is the serene surroundings and vast tracts of land.
There are a total of 417 rooms in Bintan Lagoon Resort!

Breakfast buffet at Fiesta was always a cheery experience, the open concept and colourful interior, sea view with constant breeze. We took our own sweet time to enjoy the pastries and continental spread.

Pretty landscaping, the coconut trees give the resort a relaxing vibe.

Blue and white over the horizon and pool, sea and clouds. Go on, rest on the beach deck couches, snooze if you wish to πŸ™‚

Life can be carefree, until the kids pull you along to explore the resort.

Climb up the slope and watch the ferry moors, the ferry terminal is at resort’s door step!

Looking over the horizon.

The lobby is decorated with pretty wooden carpentry work.

Bintan Lagoon Resort offers tons of opportunities to relax and chill.

Our active kids spend most of their time at Leisure Centre.

We suspect Jungle Gym would be kids’ favourite hideout.

Or pool fun (boat rental has nominal fee)

Golf driving range and archery, you can rent the buggy too (4 seater 350,000 Rupiah).

Those who wish to impress and romance your beau, the spacious suites are available for your luxurious honeymoon. Villas with private pool and personal buggy are available too.

Pretty landscaping all around.

But alas, monsoon season’s red flag meant it was not safe for seaside activities.

Lunch was Dim Sum and Chinese cuisine at Chop Chop, value for money and quite delicious too, the carrot cakes were surprisingly good.

We signed up for a Mangrove tour after lunch. Amazing to go up close and embrace the rich diversity surrounding a mangrove ecosystem.

Mangrove kiln (for charcoal burning) and traditional houses spotting.

Both the speedy boat ride and overhead mangroves canopy were exhilarating for us. As we ventured deeper, the waterway got narrower and shallower.

Spot the overhead snakes and monkeys!

Learning about the ecosystem of the mangroves, the mangrove pods. Our guide managed to grab some wild pitcher plants for us too.

Back on land, kids were treated to Magnums and adults packaged the “famous” Nasi Padang back, love the juicy and tender rendang beef!

Dinner was at beachfront restaurant Nelayan. Enjoy a sumptuous dinner as the waves lapped the sandy shoreline.

Tips for travellers : When Indonesians mention your order is only mild spiciness, they mean very spicy :p

Grilled Lombok Chicken was the best dish from our dinner, the chilli meshed into the chicken, and goes really well with plain rice. Sedap!

We have uploaded more photos on our Facebook album, you can visit our Day 1 Eco-Village activity too.

β€œBintan Resorts” generally refers to the area on the entire northern coast of the Indonesian Island of Bintan. There are at least 8 resorts around this area. You can get the latest updates about Bintan Lagoon Resort on their website and Facebook.
