Rise and Shine for happier and healthier kids

Did you know the bouncing castle malfunctioned earlier? Daddy told Boon Yi and Boon Xin to pose dramatic and look Sad. It was so hard to make our smiling kids look dejected.

Did you know why they were so Happy last Sunday morning?

As one of Rise & Shine’s blogger partners, we were glad to be invited to a Breakfast Carnival. Rise&Shine’s motto is “Rise and Shine – for happier and healthier kids“.

We heard the early bird families gathered today are aiming to break a Singapore Picnic record.

“Yummy Mummy, Yummy Baby” contest kickstart our morning. The babies oozes cuteness and the Mummies, WOW, are simply sexy Gorgeous and Radiant ! You know SengkangBabies’ population have stopped at four, so Mummy and Daddy are always eager to hug someone else’s baby hehe 🙂

Daddy was one of the judges (together with Joan, Daddy M and Debra) to find out which Mummy and child pair will charm the crowd 🙂

Apples greet Good-Morning to the families, but we noticed kids are not excited about the Apples.

Video : Kids have spotted rows and rows of Fun awaiting them ! Maybe Paula (the RealHouseWife) is somewhere in the crowd.

Angeline (from PrincessDana) knew our kids are always hungry, so nice of her to sponsor some fruity-goodness for us 🙂

Kids participated in soccer, golf, cricket and countless other games. All games are Free.

Daddy suspects kids’ favourite game is Frisbee, especially when they have kakis (buddies) from CheekieMonkies and BPDG to run with 🙂

Whose kids can reject bouncing castle fun?

Who can resist Breakfast, when we have so many happy faces on a Sunday morning? Food, fruit and nutrition, with Fun games and great company. No wonder Rise & Shine broke the Singapore Records for Largest Picnic event 🙂

Our own pinhole camera + free camera workshops

< Sponsored >

Daddy loves to take our photos, and we do not mind posing, with all the silly expressions 🙂

But when Daddy told us we can understand more about photography, and even build our own camera, we were sceptical. Can we really build a Nikon, Canon….

Enter nPower Education, they are an education center that seeks to provide primary and secondary school students with learning techniques that lead to more efficient learning. During school holidays, nPower conducts pinhole camera classes.

Our friendly Teacher cool Khoo shows us what is inside a pinhole camera. No battery !

Handicraft time, the red boxes will be our “camera”. We have to poke and cut our own pinhole and camera shutter respectively.

There are 7 kids in our class, and all of them were busy constructing and decorating their cameras. Kids are very excited about their project, judging from the laughter and “posings”. Everyone wants to PEEP through their own camera 🙂

Pinhole Fun, brought to you by nPower 🙂
Did you know we even had our own “dark” room to process our special film?

nPower’s camera workshop is suitable for kids aged 6 to 12. Besides building our own cameras, students will also learn about the science behind photography.

What do we do with our new toy? Pose, Experiment.

Oh, we were told to stay still for 30 seconds just to get our own “exposure”. Have Fun standing still ! Everyone were giggling away 🙂

After we got our own film, we have to get it developed in the dark room (with a Red neon light).

Kids might not understand that they are going to develope their own negatives, but they were very curious about the next steps. As we rinse the special-film over the chemicals, we can see our own photos slowly appear.

Why is image inverted? Why is it Black and White? Why some photos are so blur, or bright? So many questions for our teacher.

This is Daddy’s first visit to a dark room too 🙂 Our own mini gallery.

We have built our own pinhole camera, understand a little more about shutter and exposing, we can now understand more about pinhole camera’s history.

We can bring back our projects and memories 🙂

We would like to thanks the teachers at nPower for inviting us to this Fun class.
You can view more snapshots on our Fanpage album, and nPower’s album.
