Our own pinhole camera + free camera workshops

< Sponsored >

Daddy loves to take our photos, and we do not mind posing, with all the silly expressions πŸ™‚

But when Daddy told us we can understand more about photography, and even build our own camera, we were sceptical. Can we really build a Nikon, Canon….

Enter nPower Education, they are an education center that seeks to provide primary and secondary school students with learning techniques that lead to more efficient learning. During school holidays, nPower conducts pinhole camera classes.

Our friendly Teacher cool Khoo shows us what is inside a pinhole camera. No battery !

Handicraft time, the red boxes will be our “camera”. We have to poke and cut our own pinhole and camera shutter respectively.

There are 7 kids in our class, and all of them were busy constructing and decorating their cameras. Kids are very excited about their project, judging from the laughter and “posings”. Everyone wants to PEEP through their own camera πŸ™‚

Pinhole Fun, brought to you by nPower πŸ™‚
Did you know we even had our own “dark” room to process our special film?

nPower’s camera workshop is suitable for kids aged 6 to 12. Besides building our own cameras, students will also learn about the science behind photography.

What do we do with our new toy? Pose, Experiment.

Oh, we were told to stay still for 30 seconds just to get our own “exposure”. Have Fun standing still ! Everyone were giggling away πŸ™‚

After we got our own film, we have to get it developed in the dark room (with a Red neon light).

Kids might not understand that they are going to develope their own negatives, but they were very curious about the next steps. As we rinse the special-film over the chemicals, we can see our own photos slowly appear.

Why is image inverted? Why is it Black and White? Why some photos are so blur, or bright? So many questions for our teacher.

This is Daddy’s first visit to a dark room too πŸ™‚ Our own mini gallery.

We have built our own pinhole camera, understand a little more about shutter and exposing, we can now understand more about pinhole camera’s history.

We can bring back our projects and memories πŸ™‚

We would like to thanks the teachers at nPower for inviting us to this Fun class.
