Safra Singapore Bay Run with Dads

A few Dads participated in 2018 Singapore Bay Run and Army Half Marathon this morning. Our section could be bigger, but a few fell sick.

Although the run is also known as Army Half Marathon, we ran the Fun 5 km, not 21km.

Beautiful patchy clouds welcomed the runners, splendid skyline 🙂

Nick says it best when we “busy” parents must find opportunities to keep ourselves fit. If we are strong, we can definitely better support our family.

So to fellow Dads, let us plan for more sports 🙂

Slightly warm, but not hot. We started the race with superb weather. When we were walking towards the start line on Esplanade Bridge, 21km and 10km runners were making their way to Finish line.

21km and 10km runners had started at 0430 and 0630 respectively. Kudos!

5km Race was well organised. there was only one wave, but there are plenty of space for us to run in CBD. Our route brought us one round anti-clockwise along Marina Bay.

Maybe I spoke too soon. We soon encounter families and runners who were blocking the lanes.

Slower runners please keep left, and soldiers please curse less, the younger kids around us need not hear all the F and swear words.

Merlion, MBS, Helix and Esplanade, we passed by Singapore’s icons.

Many heartwarming scenes of families running together. Parents encouraging the kids, and sometimes holding their hands. It reminded me of 2014 when I brought 3 boys along for our first “family run” (read post here)

We had to support the enthusiastic kids with “thumbs up” and shouting “well-done”.

We Dads #DaddyMatters paced each other and enjoyed the run. It was another opportunity for us to hang out and do something for ourselves.

We merged with the 21km and 10km runners, #TogetherWeRun is the theme for 2018 Singapore Bay Run and Army Half Marathon.

As we ran pass the Esplanade the second time round, families (and super heroes) are lining up for their 800.

Some were wearing masks too 🙂

Meanwhile, David and buddy showed their support by visiting a Doctor in their running attire. Get well soon, little Buddy!

Back to our run, 900m to end point.
5km took us 35 minutes, we picked up our pace and finish strong.

Army Ready (ex) Soldiers strong :p
Happy smiles and cheers say it all, another Fun outing for the Dads.

Thank you Safra for the engagement. More details about Singapore Bay Run and Army Half Marathon can be found on their Website and Facebook.

Pizza Hut workshop, diy your own cheesy 7

[ Media Invite Pizza Hut workshop ]

I am dreaming about my next date with Pizza Hut’s Cheesy 7. As the name implies, there are whopping 7 different types of cheese packed into their latest pizza!

Cheese Lovers rejoice 🙂

To fulfill my cheesy dream, I signed up Boon Xin for a Parent-child Pizza Hut workshop.  Maybe one day, our little chef will be able to whip out some tasty pan delights 🙂

Pizza Hut workshop is opened to public and $25 registration fees apply. We heard some lucky schools were invited to make pizza as part of Pizza Hut’s outreach campaign .

Pizza making was easier than we thought. The kitchen tour oriented families about pizza workflow from Order to Preparation, Baking to delivery.  We saw all the Cheese used to prepare our delicious Hawaiian Pizza.

Boon Xin remembered the three ingredients for making a good dough, flour, oil and yeast.

For our workshop, we still need to rely on our hands to mold, stretch (repeat) until our dough fill up the pan. Just like PlayDoh 🙂

It was an interesting session, parents had Fun interacting with the kids.

Boon Xin enjoyed the baking session so much, I had minimum opportunity to dirty my hand, so I concentrated on taking photos, and eating.

Add in cheese, ham and tata, our finished product. Looks nice right, only missing some greens :p

I love capsicum but girl hate vegetables, the chef has the final say.

Boon Xin is proud of her masterpiece. Daddy is proud of Boon Xin.
One more photo before we bake our pizza.

While waiting for our own pizza to be ready (7 minutes baking), we were served Cheesy 7.

Wow! Look at the yummy cheese oozing down, we could stretch it 30 cm long. We heard cheese 7 is the same delightful “Hawaiian Pizza” base, but  upsize with more cheese.

However, the cheese can be a bit overbearing, would recommend more friends to share the guilt heh heh 🙂

Girl got her “Pizza Hut Apprentice” certificate, I am one step nearer to enjoying our own Diy Cheesy 7 in our home.

Although our own-styled pizza is inferior to cheesy 7’s taste, I would eat Boon Xin’s homemade pizza anyday. Nothing like preparing and baking your own pizza, the sense of achievement makes us happy and proud.

Thank you Pizza hut for the Fun Invite. The staff were so enthusiastic to help families baked their own limited-edited crust. We are confident many more families will enjoy the bonding session over pizza 🍕.

Pizza Hut’s baking sessions are available for kids 4 to 10 years old. One parent can join in the session. More details here.
