We stayed over at Johor over the Christmas weekend. Johor Bahru is so near it feels more like a Johor staycation.

Our Birthday and Christmas boy, Boon Wee celebrated his Birthday near Sutera Mall (Taman Sutera Utara).

Sutera Mall for our Dinner and celebration. There are a lot of eateries and entertainment to explore around this area.

So happy that 大舅 and Heng family can join us 🙂

Boon Yee’s Birthday (27 Dec) celebration at Saizeriya. It does not take a lot to make him happy, Boon Yee is always so sweet, he will make sure everyone has a portion before serving himself 🙂

Mount Austin explorations. We will find another opportunity to share the delectable food selections.

Souvenirs 叉燒酥 from Ming An (明安 is opposite KSL)

Kids had a lot of memories with these balls and tortoises!

Singaporeans normally gather around KSL and City Square area (2). If we drive out another 30 minutes, more Food and adventure awaits.

3- Plentong Go Kart (previously known as Permas Jaya)
4- Mount Austin, this area is hip and packed with niche F&B outlets (Do pop by Hazel’s sweet cafe review)
5- Sutera Mall is a convenient one-stop venue for shopping and eating. Its backyard neighbourhood is very happening in the evenings. We follow BPDG’s hotel and food recommendations 🙂
6. Before heading back to SG, we drove to Gelang Patah (near Legoland) for Seafood lunch

Hello Santa, we spend a magical Christmas at USS (Universal Studios Singapore) last Sat.

The streets of New York and Hollywood are decked in festive colours. Characters are dressed in their Christmas best.

We look forward to the hourly snow at Hollywood and New York.

The night lights look especially enchanting.

Pretty illumination casted onto New York Library.

“Fairytale Remix” Gingerbread and Snowman are cute and brings out the festive mood.

Map and Itinerary. We head down to USS around 4pm, when we know the crowd will be smaller. During this festive period, USS rides will run until 9pm yes!

For first timers, we will recommend “Sesame Street Saves Christmas Show“.

For those with younger kids looking for “Character Meet & Greets”, go earlier or you will miss the photo opportunity. I am still waiting for that photo with Shrek and Fiona 🙂

Even Canopy Flyer queue is less than 20 minutes!

Talking about rides, we manage to score a few firsts at USS this round. Whole family survived “Revenge of the Mummy”, but Mommy mention this is the one and only time haha 🙂

Battlestar Galactica (Human) tested my nerve. I am amazed how they packed so much twists and dips on such a small footprint. I chicken out of Cylon after witnessing the upside down twists!

Fairytale Shrek 4D never fail to tickle our funny bones. Little porker and Pinocchio and we just love to be tortured by Lord Farquaad.

Highlight for us is “A Hollywood Christmas Gift Show”. Toy Soldiers, Madagascar penguins rock the stage, but the Minions are overwhelming favourites 🙂 Banana!
