Chuggington Live!

[ Media Invite ]

We join Wilson, Koko and Brewster as they trained to be Chiefs last week.
With “Chuggington Live! The Great Rescue Adventure”, it was the first time we saw so many of our favourite train characters on stage!

I did remember the kids being more enthusiastic, dancing along, and shouting “Toot Too” last time.
Have they outgrown their Chuggington cartoon and toys already?

Chuggington Live! is a stage performance, trains and crew will sing together, tunes after tunes.
Plenty of train whistles will be injected too, a new musical adventure awaits.

While the trains roll about on stage, the LED screen behind projects another dimension of the stage to audience. You might see a depot, or even trains racing across the green meadows.

Along the track, audience follow the trainess as they underwent 3 rescue scenarios.
Coincidentally, some of the rules can be applied at home too.
IMG_3064

Number 1 ruleKeep the track safe
Similarly, we need to keep our own toys after playing, to prevent people from falling over, and to nurture a sense of ownership and responsibility.

Number 2 RuleStop and think ( do not rush)
We always remind the kids to stay Calm and use their brain. Do things with a purpose and an objective.
The worst thing we can do during an emergency is to lose our composure and go into panic mode.

On stage, the trainees learn to repair the track, tow a broken Friend and cleaned some oil spillage.
These are some of the tests which they need to pass.

Speedy Koko had to learn about “Booster off and brake” in order to slow down safely.
His fellow friends guided him to slow down with the correct technique and avoided an accident.

When Koko fell into a pit, his friends had to think of ways to extricate him from the dangerous mine.

From the trainees, we see themes like collaboration, life long learning, and an earnest desire to improve their experience and exposure.
Similarly, I remind the kids that we must not rest on our laurels, and we should always think of ways to improve ourselves, and help the less fortunate.

DiggerSite, dig for Fun !

If you pass by East Coast, you might think DiggerSite is a real construction site. Until you see beaming kids controlling the mini excavators 🙂

Realistic background, kids need to wear helmet and safety vest too! The SG50 “DANGER” t-shirt is optional but super adorable.

$50 gets you 10 tokens, believe me when I say the rides are very addictive. You can choose to spend all tokens on one day, or use within 3 months.

Indoor excavator is cool (literally) as room is air conditioned 🙂 Play UFO and pickup up the balls by maneuvering the grip. Challenge each other to see who has the best reflexes.

It looks easy, but you need good coordination to control the excavator, up,down, left, right, grab and release etc. Under the helmet, players will soon perspire, it is tough to work in the construction industry.

Outdoor SAND Play, need I say more? The whole area is under a roof, so we are sheltered from the sun.

We spend the most time at the wrecking balls section. Kids were trying to outdo each other by challenging each other to knock down all the pins first.

The excavators are fixed to the ground, so no worries about the kids driving off or knocking down the roofs! It is very safe as long as kids listen to the safety instructions and do not go near other moving excavators.

We understand log section was only two weeks old, the shelter was not even up yet (it is ready now). Kids love the challenge of picking the log and dumping it into the wheelbarrow.

Some kids (and adults) might have coordination problems, others look like experienced supervisors. But everyone will have fun. If you need to know, my girl is on par or better than her brothers 🙂

I was so tempted to challenge the kids but was worried that other kids will think “Uncle” snatch their toy.

More than the thrill rides, the staffs at DiggerSite are all very friendly and patient.
They are good with kids and keep engaging kids on the correct techniques.

Souvenirs for hardcore fans 🙂

Happy siblings, happy parents.

DiggerSite mentioned that excavators are suitable for kids 3 and up. Most parents would not mind letting the child sit on their laps.
