Rock climbing is Tiring but so much FUN!

Rock climbing is not only about strength, it is about body-coordination. You need to look forward and plan your next grip. Ensure three points on the wall at any one time to avoid losing your balance. Does it sounds like growing up in society and facing our own life challenges?

Kang ascending the peak in style ! Our peak belongs to The Rock School at Bedok CC.

While goggling “Rock climbing”, Daddy came across a new term “free soloing”. Let Alex Honnold show you what is No-Sweat !! No gear, no rope, only mind powder and sheer belief !

Quoting from the Rock-team :

We believe that, in a safe and fun environment as well as with the right guidance,
kids and youths could easily reap the benefits of rock-climbing. This includes bringing up their general fitness level and, more importantly, building up their character as they
overcome challenges conquering a wall several times their height.
What’s more, with our free parent-child climbs, kids and their parents may strengthen both bodies and family at the same time too !

Climbing in a single file, that’s what they do at K2 summit too !

Our coach play “Shark’ with us, and jokes with us, to calm us down. Not many people climb walls before, and kids come with mixed expectations. Eager, excited and nervous.

After a few warm-up rounds, they now feel confident. Even the new obstacles (like hoola hoops) cannot deter kids’ enthusiasm.

Warning, jumping is not endorsed by Rock School, Daddy has to remind Kang not to jump too frequently !

Different colour codings to indicate the level of difficulty.

If you are confident, buckle up your harness. We are going for the real deal !

No uTurn. Kids face up to a 7m tall wall, conquer your fears keke.

One more round of safety briefing, when it comes to safety, Rock School takes nothing for granted.

And off they go. Climbing can be physically strenuous, but do not forget to have fun ! Yes, even when you fall and dangles in mid-air, remember to smile for Daddy’s camera :p

Actually, Daddy does not mind cliff-hanging with the kids. Kids will complain tired, “can I come down now?”, but when they reach the peak, their smiles say it all !

I DID IT !!

Did you know the most difficult task is coming down? Kids need to let go of their HANDS and let the coach glide/walk them down the cliff. Not easy 🙂

Anyway, Kids get a stamp for each conquered peak. They challenge each other to reach the top.

Punishing Fun Rock climbing is now available at Bedok CC.
Looking at the Tall Rock wall, parents would find it challenging too !
Kudos to kids for forging a path ahead, and conquering their own fear.

We are all certified little spideys ! Special thanks to the Rock School for hosting us, the kids did not want to leave after classes. As usual, you can pop by our Fanpage for more climbing actions.

We recommend that you pop by Mummy Angeline‘s blog to see how her two boys cope 🙂

On 21.22 July, a big Rock awaits families at Bedok CC. Rock climbing is not for boys only, the fastest climber was an Indian gal 🙂 You can register at http://therockschool.sg/trcc/ now.

Marina Bay Sands Infinity pool

At Marina Bay Sands Infinity pool, what did Boon Yi do to make Daddy so angry again? Daddy also threw him in Malacca’s pool ! Read on to find out why we are hanging out at Marina Bay area again.

Click on video for a preview of SengkangBabies’ Water FUN !

Some of the icons spotted in and around MBS, including our Merlion friend.

Actually, we had pop by Jiu Jiu’s Marina Bay Sands (MBS) staycation last month. When Daddy told the kids that we can swim in the world’s tallest swimming pool, kids agree to behave immediately 🙂

Daddy brought Kang up to skypark for a sneak peek first. The weather is HOT, and we can already imagine ourselves soaking in the pool !

Skypark is really lush with greenery. Hello, this is a roof, but it is also an oasis, and not your usual concrete and mortar. So NICE !

Everyone must pose next to the “edge” when you up in MBS’s infinity pool :p

Although there is a safety gap beyond the wall, we would advise parents to ensure active kids do not try to scale the wall. There are also lifeguards on duty.

There is a wading pool for the younger ones

Needless to say, Yi and Xin truly are water babies too.

We went on a weekday, and it was already quite crowded. It will be hard to imagine how crowded the pool will be on a weekend. Forget about doing your laps 🙂

From the front, you can view Singapore’s Central Business district..

On the other side, we can catch the paranomic Gardens by the Bay. We did a short introduction about 29th Jun’s opening yesterday. This garden will be a nice picnic spot for families 🙂
