NDP 2016 at National Stadium.
No Red Lions, Flypast, or Big bang fireworks.
However, the best part of the show is watching the kids enjoy themselves.
Singing, Cheering, Reciting the Pledge, Mari Kita (National Anthem Majulah Singapura).
When did they memorised the lyrics (link) for Tomorrow’s Here Today? (I even have problem remembering the tongue-twisting song Title)
Nevermind, kids are showing us Singapore’s future is bright π
Seeing Alethea and Boon Xin enjoying themselves, can I nominate them for the BEST motivators award?
Band 53a crooning NDP 2016’s theme song.
Military band.
Huge LCD screens all around ensure we never miss any action. Motivators are decked in white to rah-rah the audience and raise the tempo.
We enjoyed all the segments and goosebumps. Nothing like singing favourite Singapore songs together π
Two items are memorable, hand-signing of “Count on Me Singapore!” and Kallang Waves (endless haha).

To be truly successful, Singapore must embrace everyone in the society.
Proud Singaporeans.
Contingents form-up.
When the Chinook flypast with Singapore flag (look at big LCD ok), sing Majullah Singapura with Gusto!
I want the kids to be proud to be Singaporeans, hope they will not take our Nation’s peace for granted (especially in these uncertain times).
Some folks will get to Pull the Singapore flags up the seats!
Stand-in President reviewing Guard of Honour.
Feu-de-joie (Indoor), super LOUD as the blanks echo around the stadium π
Sky turning dark, but the atmosphere and mood indoor is electrifying.
March past
Police and soldiers file onto the steps, symbolising everyone need to play a part to keep Singapore safe.
More smiles
Shine wrist band, SHINE! Thousands of little lights will be synchronised off our wrists π
Twinkle Twinkle little stars lit up the National Stadium, so NicE!
Folk hero “Legend of Badang”, and a Singapore Stone π
Story telling, Ah Gong sharing Singapore’s growing years.
2065 Singapore, is that our home in the sky?
Look at the “rolling” multimedia screen below the stage, as children paintings (and aspirations) are projected, the performers form the shape too. Impressive act!
Fireworks seem a distance away (over at Kallang Basin).
Rousing audience, indoor fireworks too! Indoor fireworks feel closer and definitely more impactful! Let us sing patriotic songs together again π

We can see the Singapore flag projected onto the roof.
Happy family, NDP 2016 went beyond our expectations, Kudos!
Thank you to all the volunteers and participants for such a splendid performance!
Funpack comes in Red and White, and they got water proof cover too, Cool.

Indeed, it must be such a proud moment to witness the preview of National Day. It is heartening to see kids loving the nation…

Yup it is, everytime they sing their favourite songs.
Be it at the Stadium, vicinity or infront of TVs π
I love the use of the ceiling to create aerial displays! Beautiful. Really looking forward to watching the whole thing on TV.
A new experience for all π
I would prefer them to wind the roof open to see the SG Flag flypast :p
Lucky you! I have been balloting every year for my family but we’ve never won any tickets for the past 8 years! T_T
It looks so nice and spectacular to be at the new indoor stadium this year. Majulah Singapura!

The shine wristbands looks cool…I like how they keep having new ideas for the crowd to show their support! Too bad we will miss this year NDP… will watch it online!

Watch quite innovative, that really set the background ambiance for the stadium π
Thanks for sharing although I think I would have preferred the skyline as the backdrop. By having it in the stadium and the lack of external shows (Red Lions etc…) it’s not being very inclusive. The last few years at least those outside can feel the ‘Ra Ra’ thru the other displays from the Navy, the Air Force etc..putting it in an enclosed stadium just doesn’t feel the same, feels a bit like an indoor concert but nevertheless it’s good to bring the kids to experience the NDP live to galvanise the patriotic feeling.

It is really an indoor performance, end to end.
Personally, I would still prefer the traditional floating platform haha π
(got Sea,Air and Road performances)
My sis and mum went yesterday.. so nice to experience NDP live at the new venue!! Can’t wait to celebrate #SG51!!

Yes, one more week to go π
Although there’s no big fireworks, no red lions, no fly past, the atmosphere is still great. Singing all the National Day songs is also one of my favourite part of the celebration. Too bad, we always don’t have luck getting the tickets.
I have not found any friends who successfully ballot for 6 tickets yet π (haha)
Come NDP, we will be sticking to our screen at home again (tradition).
Wonderful photos! I’m hoping that we can watch it live in the near future!
Good luck π
So far we have been lucky with NDP previews (invited), have not been successful with ballots before.
