SEA Games Soccer Singapore

Last Thursday evening, I brought three boys to watch SEA Games Soccer “Singapore vs Indonesia” at Jalan Besar stadium. The atmosphere was electrifying! Every supporter turned out in RED to flood the stadium.

The feeling is totally different watching a game Live and behind the TV box. We get to enjoy the drizzle for the first 30 minutes too, thankfully organiser had free raincoats for spectators.

Even the pre-match penalty volleys whizzing up towards the spectators is a new experience(Watch out! haha). We were seated behind the goalpost so kids got to hear some crude robust Rah-rah cheers. Had to remind the kids not to repeat the slangs and derogative vocab in school hee hee.

As the game drags on, kids are tired. Why Singapore young lions never score πŸ™‚
These two siblings (and sports enthusiasts) were game enough to pop by last Monday’s Table Tennis match at Indoor Stadium on their own, Bravo!

Nila came out at half time to entertain the audience. But the Live entertainment around us was more spectacular. There were easily 8,000 referees, coaches or commentators seated all around us haha.

Why Singapore audience no Wave? We could see the smaller Indonesian contingent vigorously Waving πŸ™‚

You know the results already (Singapore 0, Indonesia 1). We did not get the opportunity to see Singapore play in the new stadium. But the soccer match at Jalan Besar was an extraordinary experience! Dad and Sons bonding over soccer.

On hindsight, after witnessing Thailand wallop Indonesia, I shuddered to think how team Singapore might struggled against Thailand, in front of an energetic home crowd.

28th SEA Games ends on the 16th, there are a few events left.
Grab the opportunity to watch a sport with your family.

Have you been to the SEA Games Carnival already?
This is our review but be warned, queues are long πŸ™‚
