In Hong Kong, you can find food, tarts, snacks, desserts literary at every corners ! Be it food streets or street food, we are spoilt for choices !
What about egg tarts, char-siew sou or po-lor bun (pineapple) for breakfast? Yummy !
In the evening, we can always rely on the delicious dessert stalls nearby. We indulge in sweet stuffs every night π
With our hotel Shamrock’s central location, the public transport (Train and Bus) serves us well. We can always reach good decent food within 10min walk in any direction !
Traditional Hongkong breakfast are those we see in dramas. Congee, fried fritters (you tiao), Zhu Chang Fen, and bee hoon π
We finish all our porridge.
The streets are always so colourful and full of life.
More breakfast and lunch options.
Even 7-11 got an impressive range of food to cater to everyone. Just pre-heat and enjoy.
After lunch, we got a train to catch. Hello, Mickey, here we come !
Mickey (poster) welcomed us at the airport. Disney’s magical anticipation sets in when we realised Disneyland is only 15 min away from airport.
We have so many options to travel from the airport to the city. Be it train, coach or taxis, everything is easily accessible.
We took a coach and reach our hotel at Jordan MTR station in 40min. Most buses in Hong Kong are double-deckers, passengers enjoy seamless connectivity and timely arrivals.
If you are holidaying in Hong Kong, we recommend you to get the Optopus card, and Mobile prepaid card. We can use the Optopus card for everything from transport to convenience stores, and top-up can be done at 7-11 stores anywhere.
Along the bus route, we see countless public skyscrappers, very tall and compact. The endless stream of buses, neon signboards in the evening and food food food ! The streets are buzzing with people and activities.
By the time we have our lunch, it was almost 2pm already. Tim Sum (ηΉεΏ) is just next door to our Hotel Shamrock ζ°δΉ π
Char Siew Bao εη§ε , Siew Mai η§ε,Egg tart θζ tuck in. We felt the price was reasonable, and we love the pastries.
Bon Appetit
Shamrock hotel is at Jordan MTR station, and we explore our neighbourhood.
Over at Central, we head to Stanley Road to locate our fatty goose leg. The goose leg taste nice, but we thought the shop owners were very rude. We recommend you try your luck with another Goose outlet π
Most of the iconic skyscrappers are on Hong Kong Island, we will share more famous WanChai (ζΉΎδ») buildings on Day 2. When night falls, the harbourfront skyline is mesmerising.
We took the MTR from Central back to Jordan. If you think Singapore MRT is packed, wait till you ride Hong Kong’s MTR π
We are impressed with HK’s integrated and seamless transport network, from MTR, to Buses to Ferries and Trams. But if you are lugging a 29″ luggage to airport, please avoid peak hours.
Click for their MTR map below.
Back to our Hotel Shamrock, our room came with two queen size beds and daily breakfast, daily rate SGD300.
