TIME FLIES!

From young, our princess is a feisty fellow. Ah Xin can be very strong willed and independent, but Boon Xin always has our family in her heart.

Daddy and Mummy just want her to be Happy and Chirpy, always 🙂

Thank you to https://riverashbakery.com (Facebook and Instagram) for the cute Tsum Tsum cake! Boon Xin specially requested for Tsum Tsum as she remembered the cute characters from her 8th birthday link .

We got an ice-cream drip cake for this round, this is still one of the cutest Tsum Tsum cake in the market 🙂

As part of the celebration, we also did a mini-filming for a Father’s Day segment on Ch8 news segment.

We would be sharing how families can have Fun in Singapore, without going to huge expenses. Try Parks, Sports and the great outdoors.

My idea is simply to drag the kids out of the house, so they would be less addicted to electronic devices.

Jenga and Monopoly are some of the family activities which we can enjoy at home 🙂

Managing our Family is all about Managing our Expectations, I admit this is Easier said than done. We are trying to encourage our kids to think Positive and aim for their Dreams.

How can we forget about Studies and homework? We pretend to be studious haha.

When you have teenagers, it is harder to ask them to cooperate during photo shoot (blog engagements eg).

I am honoured that my teenagers were very cooperative that day. They really 给我面子 (Give Face) haha.

I was telling the Mrs that this could be the last time SengkangBabies are filmed as kids are now older and might value their privacy more.

We are always advocating Sports for family bonding. Besides keeping fit, it is a great opportunity to keep our family strong.

I hope kids will pick up Sportsmanship traits like discipline and grit.

These kids trash me in basketball, but I do not mind. I am proud that the older siblings will pass down basketball tips to the younger ones.

No need to be professional players, I just want them to enjoy their sports and pursue their passions.

Did you notice our sports-themed attire? Whenever I go running, I will choose a kids-size finisher Tshirt for them.

奶奶 joined us at Sushi Tei for some yummy Japanese treats.

Another Birthday gone. Very Soon, all my kids will be teenagers, but we are still calling them Sengkang Babies haha.

As long as our kids are Happy and Healthy, we parents will be contented 🙂

What started as an experiment has mature into a hobby. Our blog,

Q1. How do you feel about being one of finalists in Singapore Blog Awards 2012?

EXCITING !
With four kids, and reaching 40, Daddy is still excited about SengkangBabies‘ top ten nomination into Singapore Blog Award’s Family category !

HUMBLING
To be nominated as a finalist is a recognition. Hello to our fans and friends, we are so glad someone appreciate and believe our blog is cool enough for Top Ten under Best-Family category.

AMAZING !
Daddy is convinced the journey itself will be very much part of the fun. Whether we win or not, we will get to meet new friends, and hopefully, share our adventures with more families.

Q2. When did you start blogging and what drew you to it? Where do you get inspiration for your blog content?

Daddy picked up blogging a few months before our girl, Boon Xin (2009) was due. We love how some parents capture and document their kids’ childhood memories, through their blog. We really believe blogging would be an interesting way to share our adventures and “gossips” with more families.

Since then, blogging has become our passion, and through sharing, our readers and fans will get to appreciate more about parenting tips, playgrounds, and even photography !

Q3. How do you feel about the other Finalists in your category this year? How do you think you will fare compared to them?

Daddy know most of the “Family” finalists, either in person or Online. Most of the time, we know each other Online first, and we feel like “Friends” when we do meet up !
[“I know you, you are so and so”, “Are you Punggol-Babies” etc]
Parenting bloggers are mostly jovial and friendly! 2012’s finalists are listed here.

We each got our own blogging style. The Mummy bloggers are always strong, how many Daddy bloggers do you know of?
Having say that, 2012’s “Family category” will be interesting, we got four Daddy bloggers nominated! We hope this will spur more husbands to become bloggers too.

If a Daddy blogger should win, it will definitely show Daddy bloggers can be COOL too.

Q4. Give a reason why readers should visit your blog and vote for you?

Our kids bring you Fun ! That is our blog motto.

We started this blog with one mission, to share our playgrounds, and archive the kids’ memories. If you feel that blogging is a noteworthy way to document our kids’ childhood. Follow our adventures.

We will give you another reason to visit our blog. 我們的孩子比较多 !
(literally we have more kids).
Have you ever wonder how a Big noisy family with four kids thrive in Sunny Singapore?
How do we cope with school, our daily challenges, and maybe how we travel together !
(It is not easy for young parents to fathom traveling with a toddler)
